Intended audience. This site is for those believers who sense that there may be something wrong in their individual or church lives. If you are not a follower of Jesus Christ, this site is not for you – but if you do read its content, you may be surprised that someone from within the Church dislikes hypocrisy and insincerity as much as you do. Moreover, you may be surprised that Jesus felt the same way that you do, Matthew 23:13-35.

Your use of the site. By accessing this site, you acknowledge that it is fully your responsibility to apply its content as you deem appropriate. Your usage of its content is at your own risk, applicable only as you determine it to be true – as the Bereans did when Paul taught them, Acts 17:10-11.

Your privacy. This site does not harvest the email addresses of any who visit – no matter how regularly. If you submit a sincere question or a meaningful comment, you will most likely get a personal email response. After such a response, your email address will be digitally discarded.

Author's anonymity. The author of Fifty Degrees chooses to remain anonymous. Some writings on this site contain, or are based on, historical experiences in the life of the author – ones that involve real people, parties, and places (most having been given alternate names). Individuals who personally know the author might be tempted to speculate about who these might be. The author's anonymity renders any such speculation void and meaningless. And please – neither speculate nor answer any speculative inquiries about his identity.

Contacting the author. You may contact him for any purpose at author@FiftyDegrees.org.

Exaggeration. The writings of this site are not exaggerations. Personal experiences, presented in the first person, are factual – but with identities changed. Some of those experiences, presented as single events may be composites of multiple ones. Those writings that are presented as fictional portrayals of the experiences of others are based on the factual experiences of mine and others.

Thou shall not judge? Jesus said, "Do not judge so that you will not be judged." Matthew 7:1. He continued to explain that we will be judged in the way we judge others – and that we should not comment on the speck in a brother's eye if we ignore the log in our own. Then Jesus said, "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." Matthew 7:6. The dogs and the swine cannot be identified without discernment and judgment. The Bible teaches us to be discerning – to make holy judgments. In Matthew 7:1-6, Jesus was simply saying that we will be judged in the same way that we judge others – and that hypocritical log-in-the-eye speck-inspectors should be silent. The author of this site takes very seriously those exhortations, and their accompanying responsibility and accountability.

Offense. Paul wrote, "Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God." 1 Corinthians 10:32. No offense (a cause of stumbling) is intended by this site. Warnings, reproofs, and corrections have a place in the Body as seen in the words of Jesus – and those of Paul and other Old and New Testament authors. We are never instructed to silently ignore the diminishing fires of the faith in deference to the feelings of the lukewarm or the cold.

Presumptuous. That's what this site would be if its author wrote as if he knew that its content specifically applied to you. No presumption is here. The writings are posted for you to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider. If a particular writing has no application to you, pray that those who need it will access it and learn from it. If a particular writing does apply – well, as the old saying goes, "If the shoe fits wear it." Better yet, "Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." James 1:22.

Bible quotations. Quotations are from the New King James Bible unless designated otherwise.

Copyright. The writings of Fifty Degrees are copyright protected. However, you may copy right out of them for distribution in any way that you choose – at no financial profit – and without change to the content or imbedded copyright statements.

Your submissions of content. The author of this site welcomes any meaningful submissions from those who visit. By your submission, you acknowledge your granted permission for him to use bits and pieces from those submissions in any way he chooses without acknowledgement of source. It is unlikely that submissions will be posted in complete form.
